Stop holding yourself back!Hey Reader! This email lands in your inbox every Tuesday, sharing tit bits, insights and personal experiences along my various travels to 80+ countries, to inspire, entertain or enlighten you on the diversity of places to visit around this amazingly, beautiful world around us. ----------------------------- So you say you love travel, right? You often dream about ticking off your bucket list but somehow haven’t gotten round to it. Perhaps it’s what you’ve been hearing or what you believe that’s causing you to be hesitant in taking action? Here are 4 myths about travel debunked, to open your mind to possibilities: Myth1: Travel is too expensive and unaffordable (It requires a huge budget, expensive hotels, and high-end flights) Busted: No, you don’t need to be wealthy to travel. With proper planning, and the wide variety of travel options available today, budget-friendly travel has never been more accessible. Whether you're traveling solo or with family, patience and thoughtful preparation can make your trips much more affordable than you might expect. By taking advantage of deals and using online tools to search for flights, accommodations, and activities tailored to your interests, you can find great prices and stretch your travel budget. Myth2: Travel is unsafe or dangerous, especially for women Busted: Understandably, safety is always a concern. However, most travel destinations are safer than you realise. Travel has rapidly grown as a global business and it is in every country’s interest for tourists to arrive, enjoy their stay and depart safely with good experiences to share with others. Many destinations now have good infrastructure and tourist support, too. While you may feel a little more vulnerable, researching ahead on any sensitivities to watch out for (like cultural norms), being aware of your surroundings, as well as applying the same common-sense precautions you use at home, you can reduce anxieties and increase feelings of safety to relax and enjoy yourself. Myth3: Travel requires a lot of time to make it worthwhile Busted: No, you don't need to quit your job or request for long vacation time to travel. Even short weekend trips or long weekends can provide meaningful travel experiences. With proper planning, you can explore new places over a few days or a little longer during your annual vacation time. Life will happen whether you are away or present. So, gift yourself with time away and you’ll feel refreshed and energised to face whatever life has in store for you on your return. Myth4: You Need to Be an Experienced Traveler or have specific skills to explore the world Busted: As with everything in life, everyone starts somewhere! With access to information, guides, travel coaching, apps and organized tours, even you as a beginner can have seamless travel experiences. You could start simply by travelling locally or to nearby countries. You could even visit a friend or relative as a motivation to get moving. Either way, just start! Traveling is a learning process, and you’ll become more confident with each trip. Other than the economy, fear or time constraints, what else has been holding you back? Just hit reply and share in one word or a few comments please.... 🙂 Whichever way, be bodacious and try travelling! You'll enjoy unique experiences and will create memories to last a lifetime!
