One of the most common things I hear from travellers isn’t: “I wish I hadn’t spent the money.”

It’s: “I wish we had done it earlier.”

Earlier before life became busier.
Earlier before everyone’s schedules stopped aligning.
Earlier before the kids came along.

Earlier while kids were still in school.

Earlier before the chama dissolved
Earlier before parents got older.
Earlier before fear, responsibilities, or “someday” kept pushing the dream further away.

And honestly… I understand.

Because travel often feels like something we’ll “eventually” get around to.

The honeymoon can wait... after we recover financially.
The girls’ trip can happen next year, when she turns 45.
The solo trip will happen when confidence improves.
The family vacation will happen when life calms down.

But life has a way of speeding up quietly.

Friends move away.
Careers become more demanding.
Children grow.
Parents age.

Chama's evolve and dissolve.
Energy changes.
Circumstances shift.

And suddenly the trip that once felt easy to postpone becomes much harder to make happen.

Some of the most meaningful trips aren’t about luxury or extravagance at all.

They’re about timing.

The honeymoon taken before life became all responsibility.
The girls’ getaway before everyone became too busy to coordinate calendars.
The solo trip that proved, “I can actually do this.”
The family holiday where everyone was still healthy enough to enjoy it fully.
The destination you kept dreaming about for years — and finally experienced for yourself instead of through other people’s photos.

Travel creates memories, yes.
But it also captures seasons of life that don’t come back in the same way twice.

And sometimes the greatest cost isn’t the flight or the hotel.

It’s waiting too long.

This doesn’t mean you need to book extravagant trips recklessly or abandon your responsibilities.

It simply means some experiences deserve to stop living only in your imagination.

Because the truth is: most people rarely regret taking the trip.

They regret postponing joy, connection, rest, adventure, and memories for “someday.”

So maybe this is your reminder to stop asking: “Is this the perfect time?”

And start asking: “If not now… when?”
