THE SECRET IS OUT… 🌍

For the past few weeks, I’ve been teasing you about countries #98, #99 and #100.

Well… the wait is over.

I still can't quite believe I'm writing this...

After 37 years of travelling, I recently stepped into São Tomé & Príncipe, my 100th country!! YAY!!

Thank you for sending your guesses! And because no one got it right, it is clear that not many know it exists as a country, let alone one in Africa!

It's only the 2nd smallest country in land mass (after Seychelles), and is one of the 'dots' hidden within the Gulf of Guinea which is part of Atlantic Ocean under Nigeria and Cameroon, the nearest part of the continent being Gabon.

A tiny island nation. A HUGE milestone for me. 🤩

But here is the part people don't always see.

I was NOT born a world traveller.

I did NOT have a plan to visit 100 countries.

And I certainly did NOT spend the last 37 years travelling nonstop.

It started in 1989 as one of many teenage girls from one high school in Kenya, on an exchange programme to Germany.

That was ONE flight out of the country, my FIRST ever international trip abroad.

Everything else came afterwards.

On Saturday, August 29, I'm going to tell you that story.

Not as a travel training.

Not as a list of hacks.

But as the real journey behind those 100 countries: the adventures, mistakes, fears, unexpected moments and lessons I've collected along the way.
